Job summary

SINGAPORE PHARMATECH PTE. LTD. is seeking a dedicated Halal Officer to oversee the Halal Management System, ensuring compliance with MUIS Halal requirements, GMP, HACCP, and applicable food safety regulations.

You will maintain documentation, coordinate audits, and train staff across production, QA, QC, and Purchasing teams. The role requires a Diploma or Degree in a related field, 1–2 years of Halal compliance experience, and strong communication with excellent documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant Halal compliance or food manufacturing experience.
• Prior experience in QC/QA or Halal certification within the food, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical industry is an advantage.
• Knowledge of MUIS Halal Certification requirements.
• Halal Competency Assessment (HCA) certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain the Halal certification and Halal Management System.
• Ensure compliance with MUIS Halal, GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
• Liaise with MUIS, certification bodies and authorities on Halal matters.
• Prepare and update Halal documentation, records, and SOPs.
• Conduct internal Halal audits and coordinate external audits.
• Train employees on Halal policies and procedures.
• Investigate non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
• Perform quality inspections on materials, in-process and finished products.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, QC, and Purchasing to ensure Halal compliance across the process.
• Support other QA and regulatory activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the company's Halal certification.
• Ensure compliance with MUIS Halal requirements, GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
• Liaise with MUIS, certification bodies, and relevant authorities on Halal-related matters.
• Prepare, maintain, and update Halal documentation, records, and SOPs.
• Conduct internal Halal audits and coordinate external audits.
• Train employees on Halal policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Investigate and resolve Halal non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
• Perform quality control inspections on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
• Work closely with Production, QA, QC, and Purchasing teams to ensure Halal compliance throughout the manufacturing process.
• Support other quality assurance and regulatory activities as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in Halal compliance or food manufacturing.
• Prior experience in Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), or Halal certification within the food, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical industry is an advantage.
• Knowledge of MUIS Halal Certification requirements.

• Possession of aHalal Competency Assessment (HCA) Certificate is preferred.

• Good communication and documentation skills.
