Overview

Job Description:

  • Assist in designing mechanical parts and assemblies for existing and new products
  • Create and manage 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks, ensuring proper tolerance analysis and application of GD&T.
  • Participate in hands-on prototyping, fit checks, and validation of mechanical designs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Assembly (DFA) compliance, focusing on materials, tolerances, and machining practices.
  • Support root-cause analysis and engineering change processes for design iterations.
  • Support integration of mechanical subsystems with electrical, electronic, and control components.
  • Participate in interface definition and compatibility testing across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
  • Assist in the assembly and system-level testing of prototype and production units to verify proper function and performance under various operational conditions.
  • Conduct or support functional and environmental testing.
  • Collaborate with QA and compliance teams to ensure integration meets safety and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in failure investigation and develop solutions for issues arising during system-level validation or field trials.
  • Help develop test plans, procedures, and system integration documentation to support repeatable builds and system verification.
  • Support project planning and scheduling activities, including defining scope, creating timelines, and identifying key deliverables and dependencies.
  • Coordinate between design, testing, manufacturing, procurement, and compliance teams to ensure alignment and timely execution of project milestones.
  • Track progress against project schedules, flag potential delays or risks, and assist in developing mitigation plans.
  • Help maintain project documentation including technical records, change logs, and action registers.
  • Prepare and deliver internal project status updates and assist with reporting to leadership or customers.
  • Communicate clearly across departments to ensure effective collaboration and decision-making.
  • Assist in managing vendor and supplier relationships to support procurement of components, tooling, and test equipment.
  • Participate in post-project reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering and program processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing methods.
  • Exposure to system-level design and multidisciplinary integration.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) and familiarity with tolerance analysis and GD&T.
  • Strong interpersonal, management and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; capable of managing multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Basic understanding of project management concepts such as work breakdown structures, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and reporting.
  • Hands-on mindset and willingness to engage in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting in the lab or field.
  • Able to work independently under minimum supervision and exhibit proactiveness in learning.
  • Proficient in quick-turn prototype building and designing (3D Printing / CNC).
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • Strong sense of ownership over work tasks and able to drive projects independently through from conceptualization to completion.
