The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) seeks a visionary and accomplished leader to join us as a Full Professor of Metabolic Health. This is a premier opportunity to establish a flagship research programme that defines the future of metabolic medicine, leveraging Singapore's unique position as a global biomedical hub.

As a senior faculty member reporting to the Dean and Vice-Dean, Research, you will provide academic leadership in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You will drive an independent, world‑class research agenda while integrating your expertise into the education of future medical leaders and clinicians.

Role
  • Research Leadership: Establish and lead a pioneering, externally funded research programme in metabolic health. We are particularly interested in expertise that complements and expands our strengths in areas such as:
    • Endocrinology & Hepatology
    • Metabolic Oncology
    • Age‑dependent Precision Nutrition
    • Nutrition‑driven Epigenetics
  • Academic Excellence: Undertake high‑quality, translational research with a focus on novel interventions. A research programme that offers unique insights into the aetiology and pathophysiology of metabolic diseases within Asian populations is highly desirable.
  • Education & Mentorship: Contribute to the educational mission of LKCMedicine by mentoring postgraduate students and teaching in our innovative, team‑based undergraduate medical curriculum.
  • Collaboration & Impact: Foster strong internal and external collaborations to translate research discoveries into clinical practice and public health policy, both in Singapore and globally.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with an international reputation for excellence, evidenced by:

  • MBBS/MD and/or PhD
  • Relevant postdoctoral or clinical experience
  • Senior researcher with at least 10 years of successful principal investigator or industry experience
  • Significant experience and outstanding record of translational clinical research and teaching with a high level of scientific achievement, productivity and impact in the field of Metabolic Medicine, Nutrition and Diabetes Research
  • Ability to supervise research staff and students
  • Good communication skills and an appreciation for constructive teamwork
  • Willing to participate in postgraduate and undergraduate education and training
  • Experience of having supervised graduate students to successful completion of PhDs
