Job description
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Support the development and optimization of beverage formulations by handling assigned projects with minimal supervision. Prepare prototypes, evaluate ingredients, coordinate testing activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product development and compliance.

Main Responsibilities and Duties
A.Product Formulation Optimization & Prototype Development
  • Develop and optimize beverage formulations within assigned project scope with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare lab-scale prototypes to validate product concepts.
  • Conduct sensory checks, stability assessment and functional performance evaluation against target specifications.
B.Innovation & Ingredient Evaluation
  • Evaluate new and existing raw materials and functional ingredients in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Assist in exploring innovative or value-added ingredients to support product improvement and new concepts.
C.Pilot, Scale-Up & Production Support
  • Coordinate pilot trials to validate formulations under scaled conditions.
  • Collaborate with the Processing team during pilot, scale-up trials and post-transfer production, making necessary formulation adjustments to address processing-related challenges.
D.Quality & Compliance Assurance
  • Ensure formulations follow internal quality and regulatory guidelines; submit documents to the Regulatory team for validation.
E.Testing & Analysis Coordination
  • Arrange and coordinate sensory evaluations, stability studies, and shelf-life assessments, ensuring functional performance and product consistency, while collaborating with QA and other relevant teams to execute the required testing.
  • Record and organize test data to support formulation refinement and decision-making.
F.Cross-Functional Collaboration & Documentation
  • Collaborate with internal R&D teams—Processing, Packaging, and Systems—as well as other business functions such as Marketing, Sales, QA and Production to ensure alignment of product development goals, timelines, and technical requirements.
  • Maintain detailed formulation documentation, technical reports, and regulatory dossiers to support productclaims and audit readiness.
G. R&D Lab Operations Support
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with lab safety and hygiene standards.
  • Manage inventory of ingredients, consumables, and small tools.
  • Conduct routine equipment cleaning and basic calibration checks; coordinate external servicing when required. Support continuous improvement of lab SOPs and operational systems.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a closely related discipline.
  • 1–2 years of product development experience in beverages or related food categories (fresh graduates with strong project exposure may be considered).
  • Basic understanding of ingredient functionality, sensory evaluation, stability, and shelf-life.
  • Ability to manage assigned formulation projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams and with suppliers.
  • Attention to detail and strong documentation discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of food regulations (Singapore, Vietnam and other key markets).
  • Willingness to participate in pilot trials, support technology transfer, and travel when required.
