Job summary

Singapore Swimming Club is seeking a Captain to lead service on the floor, engage with guests, and drive a refined dining experience for members and guests. You will supervise a service team, coordinate with kitchen and bar, and uphold SOPs while delivering warm, professional table service.

The role emphasizes teamwork, upselling, and maintaining impeccable presentation. Rotating shifts include weekends and public holidays, with a focus on guest satisfaction and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Friendly, approachable demeanor essential.
• Strong communication with guests and team.
• Willingness to learn and hands-on attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced fine dining environment.
• Basic knowledge of POS systems and cash handling.
• F&B or customer service experience is a bonus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead service on the floor during shifts to ensure elevated dining experience.
• Supervise service crew and ensure SOPs are followed.
• Deliver warm, professional table service and anticipate guest needs.
• Coordinate pre-service briefings and service sequencing for smooth delivery.
• Support upselling of menu items, wine pairings, and signatures.
• Ensure proper table setup and mise en place according to standards.
• Maintain close coordination with kitchen and bar for accurate orders and consistency.
• Monitor service quality and provide on-the-job guidance to sustain excellence.
• Handle guest feedback with first-level recovery and escalation when needed.
• Keep service stations and dining areas clean, hygienic and organized.
• Support training and mentoring of new staff to uphold consistency.
• Adhere to health, safety, and Club policies.
• Perform other duties to support F&B operations as assigned by Management.
