Job summary

Methodist Welfare Services in Singapore is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Manager to strategise, grow and manage a diverse pool of volunteers across nursing home programmes. You will handle recruitment, screening, matching, orientation, deployment and exit, while coordinating with the CS Volunteer Management team to implement initiatives.

The role requires strong writing and presentation skills, ability to connect with the elderly, and experience in activity planning and programme coordination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2–3 years of experience in social sector or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
  • Able to work with the elderly in a Nursing Home setting is preferred.
  • Good writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Strategise and grow the pool of volunteers to support the various programmes in the nursing home.
  • Identify potential volunteer sources and handle volunteer enquiries.
  • Oversee the full volunteer life cycle ranging from recruitment, screening/interview, matching, orientation, deployment, review/feedback, appreciation initiatives, training and exit.
  • Manage the Salesforce volunteer database.
  • Oversee the volunteer-led activities in the Home from planning to execution.
  • Coordinate with CS Volunteer Management team to implement initiatives.

Role & Responsibilities
Volunteer Management
  • Strategise and grow the pool of volunteers to support the variousprogrammesin the nursing home
  • Identifypotential volunteer sources and handle volunteer enquiries
  • Oversee the full volunteer life cycle ranging from recruitment, screening/interview, matching, orientation, deployment, review/feedback, appreciation initiatives,trainingand exit
  • Manage the Salesforce volunteer database
  • Oversee the volunteer-led activities in the Home from planning to execution
  • Coordinate with CS Volunteer Management team to implement initiatives
Donations In-kind / Donor Management
  • Strategise and develop opportunities to meet the needs of the nursing home
  • Identifypotential donor sources and handle donor enquiries
  • Manage walk-ins /calls, DIK and sponsorship requests
Programmes
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders in the implementationofprogrammesfor residents
  • Coordinate activities/events for elderly residents, provide support during the activities/eventsand follow up on issues arising from the activities/events
Communications and Events
  • Assistwith media-related queries and requests
  • Provide support in the planning and organizing of ad-hoc events for residents and stakeholders
  • Liaise with CS Communications team to implement initiatives at the nursing home
Administrative and Other work
  • Assistwith preparation of monthly reports and related admin work
  • Undertake any other duties assigned by HOD, C&P or Head of Nursing Homes
Qualifications, Competencies & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degreewith minimum of 2-3 years of experience in social sector or equivalent relevant experience preferred
  • Able to work with the elderly in a Nursing Home setting
  • Goodwritingand presentation skills
  • Experienced in activity planning andprogrammecoordination
  • Enjoy interacting with the elderly
  • Possess critical thinking, strategicplanningand effective time management skills
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to speak dialects would be an advantage
  • Familiar with social media
  • Possess good leadership, organizational and communication skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, MS Office
  • Comfortable engaging and working collaboratively with churches to build meaningful partnerships and support organisational initiatives.
  • Is independent and resourceful, with a strong understanding of organisational development needs.
  • Meticulous, well-organised, and an effective communicator.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management and thrives as a collaborative team player.
