Job summary

SwitchZmart Philippines Inc in Singapore is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Quantity Surveyor to handle take-offs, cost control, tender submissions and drawing coordination. You will prepare BQ, cost estimates, material schedules and progress claims, and draft electrical layouts using AutoCAD while coordinating with engineers and site teams to ensure projects stay on budget and on schedule.

Experience in Singapore M&E projects is preferred; familiarity with BIM (Revit) and smart building

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in electrical quantity surveying and drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, control schematics and tender documents.
• Knowledge of tendering, variation assessment and project cost control.

Responsibilities

• Handle quantity surveying and cost control for electrical and control system projects.
• Review tender documents, specs and drawings to identify requirements and scope.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities, cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations and perform price comparisons.
• Prepare material schedules and support procurement activities.
• Prepare progress claims and assess subcontractor claims; maintain variation records.
• Monitor project costs, material usage and budget variances.
• Assist with final accounts and settlement.
• Prepare and revise electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams and control schematics using AutoCAD.
• Produce lighting, power, cable routing, containment and equipment layouts.
• Develop shop drawings, coordination drawings and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate drawings with engineers, project managers and site teams.
• Update drawings after site changes and consultant comments.

• We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to handle electrical quantity surveying and prepare electrical and control drawings. The role supports tender preparation, project costing, procurement, progress claims and drawing coordination for electrical and control system projects.

• Key Responsibilities

• Quantity Surveying & Cost Control
• Review tender documents, specifications and drawings to identify project requirements and scope.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, bills of quantities (BQ), cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, including price comparisons and scope clarifications.
• Prepare material schedules and support procurement activities.
• Prepare progress claims, assess subcontractor claims and compile supporting documents.
• Evaluate variation works, prepare quotations and maintain variation records.
• Monitor project costs, material usage and budget variances.
• Assist with final account preparation and settlement.
• Electrical & Control Drafting
• Prepare and revise electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams and control schematics using AutoCAD.
• Produce lighting, power, cable routing, containment and equipment layout drawings.
• Prepare control panel layouts, termination diagrams, cable schedules and input/output (I/O) schedules based on approved designs.
• Develop shop drawings, coordination drawings and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate drawings with engineers, project managers, site teams and other trades.
• Update drawings following site changes, consultant comments and approved variations.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision records and submission documents.
• Attend site surveys and coordination meetings when required.

• Requirements

• Diploma or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Preferably at least 2 years of relevant experience in electrical quantity surveying and drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, specifications and tender documents.
• Familiarity with electrical installations, control panels, building automation and associated cabling.
• Knowledge of tendering, progress claims, variation assessment and project cost control.
• Good attention to detail, communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple submissions and meet project deadlines.

• Added Advantage

• Experience with smart home systems, lighting controls, BMS or PLC control drawings.
• Knowledge of Revit/BIM and drawing coordination.
• Relevant experience in Singapore M&E projects.
