Job summary

A leading construction firm in Singapore is seeking a Design Engineer (Structural) responsible for developing structural designs for various projects, including buildings and bridges. The ideal candidate should hold a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and possess a minimum of 5 years of industry experience. Proficient knowledge of engineering software like STAAD.Pro and AutoCAD is essential. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure safety and compliance with building codes.

Qualifications

Job description
(A) Essential Job Functions:

The Design Engineer (Structural) is responsible, but not limited to the following:

Structural Design & Analysis:
  • Develop structural designs for buildings, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure projects.
  • Perform load calculations, stress analysis, and material selection to ensure structural integrity.
  • Use software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit, or ANSYS for design and analysis.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local and international building codes (e.g., Eurocodes, ACI, AISC, BS, IS codes).
Drafting & Documentation:
  • Prepare technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for construction teams.
  • Work closely with CAD technicians and BIM modelers to create detailed 2D and 3D structural models.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, including design reports, calculations, and technical notes.
Project Coordination:
  • Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, and contractors to ensure design feasibility.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and feasibility studies.
  • Assist in resolving design-related issues during construction and provide technical support on-site.
Quality & Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure that structural designs meet safety, durability, and sustainability standards.
  • Conduct structural inspections and provide recommendations for modifications if necessary.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and construction techniques.

  • Minimum Degree holder in Civil/Structural Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or its equivalent.
