Job summary

W Singapore Sentosa Cove is seeking a culinary professional to prepare meals to standard recipes with precise portions and presentation. You will regulate ovens, thaw frozen items, and maintain accurate food logs while ensuring high quality in busy service periods.

You will inform the Chef of excess inventory for daily specials and communicate menu items to service staff. Physical tasks include standing for long periods and lifting up to 25 pounds as required in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree required.
• At least 3 years of related work experience.
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
• Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish
• Maintain food logs
• Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared
• Communicate assistance needed during busy periods
• Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials
• Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out of stock menu items
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist
