Qualifications

• Proven experience as a customs declarant, customs broker or in a similar customs compliance role.
• SC401 certification or strong knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
• Proficiency in using TradeNet for permit submissions and tracking.
• Strong understanding of tariff classification, HS codes and trade regulations.
• Logistics or supply chain knowledge is beneficial.
• Ability to work in shift with colleagues in daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate customs permits and declarations for import/export shipments using TradeNet.
• Review shipping docs, manifests and invoices for accuracy before submission.
• Coordinate with warehouse, logistics and finance teams to ensure timely customs processing.
• Keep up-to-date with customs regulations, tariff codes and import/export requirements.
• Identify and classify goods under HS codes and relevant trade regulations.

About the role

We are seeking a Custom Permit Declarant to join HS GROUP on a full-time basis at our Jurong East Region facility. This role is pivotal to our warehousing, storage and distribution operations, as it ensures compliance with customs regulations and facilitates the smooth movement of goods through our supply chain. As a Custom Permit Declarant, you will be responsible for managing customs documentation and declarations, directly supporting our logistics operations and contributing to the efficient flow of Fast Moving Consumer Goods.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting accurate customs permits and declarations for import and export sea and air shipments in accordance with customs regulations and requirements using TradeNet.
• Reviewing shipping documentation, manifests and invoices to ensure completeness and accuracy before customs submission
• Coordinating with warehouse, logistics and finance teams to ensure timely processing of goods through customs
• Monitoring and updating knowledge of customs regulations, tariff codes and import/export requirements to maintain compliance
• Identifying and classifying goods under the appropriate Harmonised System (HS) codes and relevant trade regulations

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a customs declarant, customs broker or in a similar customs compliance role within the warehousing, storage and distribution industry
• Candidates with certification in SC401 or with In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures and documentation requirements will be considered
• Proficiency in using TradeNet for permit submissions and tracking
• Strong understanding of tariff classification, Harmonised System (HS) codes and trade compliance regulations
• Additional knowledge in logistics or supply chain management would be beneficial
• Ability to work in shift with fellow colleagues in daily operational needs
