RESPONSIBILITIES
The Country Manager will be responsible for Operational performance and Profit & Loss of Singapore Station.
The Country Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations strategy and management, as well as to support Company’s long and short term plans.
More specifically, the duties and responsibilities of the BM include the following:
- 1. Develop, review and refinement of the business strategy, execution of the strategy to obtain/maintain a leading position in the market place.
- 2. Growing the revenue/profit for the Branch with new business and existing business.
- 3. Client Management within the country/countries, in line with Vertical Lead where applicable, working closely with the respective account management team and HOD, but not limited to :
- Review SOPs regularly and keep it up to date.
- Review, understand customers’ KPI requirement, facilitate implementation and ensure compliance
- Manage customers’ expectation through regular review and KPI measurements internally
- Monthly or quarterly business review with Key Accounts together with Vertical Lead, where applicable
- Ensure all inventory are well maintained and moved within agreed time lines
- 4. Ensure revenue growth is achieved in a responsible and profitable manner, both organically and/or through possible acquisitions
- Contract negotiation with customers
- Facilitating all shipments profitably
- Sourcing for competitive rates
- Keeping our vendors’ cost in check, and regularly review to ensure we are getting competitive pricing.
- Verification of job files against billing and costing to ensure appropriate profit is captured.
- 5. Ensure the efficient utilization of Company’s resources in order to achieve the overall objectives
- 6. Motivate a high performance, innovative and results driven team.
- Hiring of right personnel/talent with appropriate approval
- Staff development and performance appraisal
- 7. Authority to hire relevant personnel with approval from management as required.
- 8. Authority to counsel, take disciplinary action against non-performing staff with consultation with HR or management, as appropriate.
- 9. Assess the principal risks of the Company and ensure that these risks are being monitored and managed;
- 10. Ensure effective internal controls and management information systems are in place;
- 11. Ensure compliance to the Company work procedures to enable it to conduct its activities both lawfully and ethically;
- 12. Keep abreast of market trends, external and internal factors that may affect the Company and implement processes and systems to ensure that management of the Company is adequately informed
- 13. Abide by specific internally established control systems and authorities; lead by personal example and encourage all employees to conduct their activities ethically in accordance with all applicable laws and the Company’s standards and policies.
- 14. Continuous Operations & Service Improvements and Excellence
- 15. Taking lead of QHSE and Security Committee, communicate and recommend necessary safety measures
- 16. Practicing and maintaining 5S, Kaizen and LEAN concept
REQUIREMENTS
Proven track records of successful closure of freight businesses and people management.
Experience as a Country Manager or Operations/Account Management Head of a medium size Freight / Logistics company operating in the international market or an international company with P&L Responsibilities.
Specific experience in various industries/sectors are preferred. People management skills are vital.
Recognised Degree or Masters in related field
