An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Manager within the Civil Aerospace Customer Regional Team. The role will be based in the Singapore Customer Service Centre (“CSC”) and is part of the General Counsel function. The role will report to the Vice President Commercial – Asia Pacific & Greater China.
Key Accountabilities
- To be the Commercial lead for allocated customer accounts responsible for the scope of activity as laid out below.
- Negotiate the resolution of contractual and non contractual claims, disputes and litigation to minimise cost and risk to the Company via direct interaction with our customers across the Asia Pacific and Greater China regions. Consider any potential market perception issues.
- Manage any customer restructuring, rehabilitations and insolvencies through to conclusion providing the best possible outcome for the business.
- Pursue any contractual opportunities to maximise profit and cash for the company:
- Manage or support as appropriate the business cases to support these opportunities.
- Negotiate any contract amendments to existing agreements to fully secure these opportunities.
- Lead internal approval sessions relating to the issues being managed so that a timely response can be provided to customers.
- Identify potential risks and liabilities inherent in commercial solutions and/or existing contracts. Negotiate contract amendments to minimise or mitigate the same, using judgement in balancing commercial/legal considerations against the requirements of the business.
- Interface with specialist departments, as required, within the company to obtain advice and guidance. Evaluate and apply such advice and guidance as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, guidelines and contracting framework in line with relevant governance.
- Provide coaching and guidance to Commercial Officers in the team, and the wider Commercial Management team where appropriate. Approve documents where required.
- Deliver and support continuous improvement & commercial best practice activities for the business and General Counsel function. Take the lead on such activity where required.
- Maintain frequent and precise communications internally across all issues being managed.
Key Experiences and Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Effective interpersonal, diplomacy, communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems while maintaining customer focus.
- Highly motivated and capable of working under own initiative.
- Sound commercial judgement and business acumen.
- Proficient in all aspects of administration.
- Ability to prioritise workloads to meet demanding deadlines.
- Experience of influencing at all levels, internally and externally.
