Job summary

Accor's Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford are seeking a friendly Porter to assist guests with luggage, escort to rooms, and ensure smooth arrivals and departures in a busy downtown hotel environment.

You'll work in shifts, maintain grooming standards, read and write English, and be a team player with a guest-focused mindset. Training provided; no prior experience required for motivated individuals.

Qualifications

• Minimum Secondary Education.
• Experience not required as training will be provided.
• Able to read and write English.
• A second language is preferred.
• Must be physically able to carry out duties of Porter.
• Guest focused with good communications skill.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of guest luggage and items in a friendly manner.
• Orient guests on room facilities to facilitate comfort.
• Attend to guest requests as directed by Leaders, Captains and Communications Agents.
• Communicate with Bell Captains upon completion of assignments.
• Provide organized luggage service and assist with group luggage logistics.
• Perform Doorman duties when required and maintain lobby flow.
• Ensure grooming standards and professional appearance at all times.

Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities: The main responsibilities and tasks of this position are as listed below, but not limited to these:

• Ensure timely delivery of guest luggage and guest items in a friendly and approachable manner to meet and exceed guest expectations.


• Orient guests on the room facilities to facilitate guest use and comfort.


• Attend to all other guest requests as directed by Leaders, Captains and Communications Agents


• Acknowledge and communicate with Bell Captains via Mobitalk upon completion of assignments


• Respond to all other requests in a timely manner


• Provide organized and seamless luggage service


• Provide introductory explanation of room facilities


• Able to provide information and assistance to guests as and when required


• Listen actively and is able to display self-control and empathy in challenging interactions and offer suitable alternative


• Presence at the lobby area to provide guest assistance


• Work closely with the Doorman for arrival and departure luggage assistance


• May require to perform Doorman duties as and when required


• Ensure smooth flow of traffic at the driveway


• Assist with any group luggage logistics


• Perform manual wake-up calls for guests during night shift when required


• Ensure timely deliveries of amenities to guests especially during the night shift


• Ensure grooming standard set by the hotel at all times
