Job summary

Akzo Nobel Paints (Singapore) Pte Ltd seeks a sales professional to lead sell-in and expand the retailer network across Singapore. The role focuses on growing product distribution, driving sell-out through retailer programmes, and managing a portfolio of active retail accounts with effective credit and range management.

The candidate should have a diploma or degree in business or related field, with at least 3 years in retail sales, and strong negotiation, communication, and English skills;

Qualifications

• Diploma, Advanced Level or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in retail sales, preferably paints, coatings, FMCG or building materials.
• Experience managing retail accounts and achieving sales targets.
• Exposure to working in a multinational environment is preferred.
• Experience in paint or coatings industry is an added advantage.
• Strong sales, negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Proven ability to achieve sales targets and drive growth.
• Good understanding of retail channel management and customer development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-focused with effective problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to analyse sales performance and identify growth opportunities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Good command of English; Mandarin/Chinese proficiency is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Sell-in management: achieve or exceed targets and acquire new retailer accounts.
• Sell-out management: drive retailer programmes and campaigns to boost demand.
• Retail account management: grow accounts, manage credit, and ensure product range and tinting adoption.
• Build relationships, address feedback, resolve complaints, and identify new retail opportunities.
