Job summary

• At least 6 years of relevant experience in a finance and/or procurement-related role.
• Knowledge of enterprise Logistics IT systems and familiarity with finance and procurement policies are advantageous.

Job description

What the role is:

You drive the sound financial stewardship and procurement to enhance operational efficiency. You ensure effective resource allocation, strict compliance with guidelines, and the delivery of timely, high-quality financial and procurement services through team leadership.

What you will be working on:

• Oversee budget planning, utilisation, and forecasting
• Provide strategic financial advice aligned with funding and procurement requirements
• Lead end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring compliance with procedures and approvals while balancing operational needs with governance requirements
• Evaluate contractor performance and institutionalise structured feedback mechanisms
• Monitor financial and procurement activities, implementing systematic checks and resolve issues where necessary
• Engage stakeholders to align requirements, funding, and procurement strategies
• Serve as the key liaison with central authorities on financial and procurement policiesChallenge(s)- Understanding and navigating the complexity of the MINDEF/SAF's finance ecosystem, frameworks, policies, and processes
• Addressing ambiguities in financial policies and procedures in cross-functional or multi-agency environments to ensure consistent and accurate decision-making
• Managing fluctuating workloads and tight deadlines during peak periods while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and service quality

What we are looking for:

• Education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain or Logistics Management, or a related discipline is preferred
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in a finance and/or procurement-related role
• Knowledge of enterprise Logistics IT systems, and familiarity with policies and guidelines on finance and procurement is advantageous
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across levels
• Strong leadership and decision-making ability
• Ability to adapt to change, manage competing priorities, and drive process improvements
