Job summary

MINDEF is seeking a logistics professional to support planning, coordination and execution of operations including ration management and feeding services. You will synchronize plans, maintain facilities, and oversee cookhouse operations to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires at least 5 years in logistics or related areas, strong organisation, and excellent stakeholder communication across levels from ground users to contractors. Shortlisted candidates will be notified.

Qualifications

• Education in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain related areas such as logistics management and asset stewardship is preferred.
• Organised and meticulous, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively under time and resource constraints.
• Strong communication skills to engage clearly and confidently with stakeholders at different levels, ranging from ground users, process owners and contractors.

Responsibilities

What the role is:

You are responsible for supporting the planning, coordination and execution of logistics operations, which includes planning and provision of logistics support, and ration management.

What you will be working on:

• Synchronise logistics plans, operational requirements and logistics resources to support routine activities and operations
• Ensure continuity of support during disruptions by implementing contingency operations plans and prioritising critical resources
• Manage the maintenance of facilities within the compound
• Plan and oversee cookhouse operations to ensure effective and timely delivery of feeding services
• Coordinate contingency meal support plans in the event of disruptions to cookhouse operations
• Assist in the management of vehicles, transport operators and National Servicemen (NSmen)
• Supervise a team of full-time national servicemen (NSFs), by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to operational standards

Challenge(s)

• Balancing competing operational requirements while managing supply and ration simultaneously
• Deconflicting priorities, expectations and reallocation of resources among diverse stakeholders
• Managing high operational tempo or unexpected surges
• Delegating tasks efficiently to maintain service levels despite limited resources

What we are looking for:
