  • Prepare proposals to secure resources for approved policies and plans.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluation of implemented policies and programmes.

Job description

What the role is:

The Assurance, Care and Engagement Group (ACE), a division under the Ministry of Manpower, improves the well-being of migrant workers by enhancing the healthcare, housing and social aspects of the migrant worker landscape. The Care Policy branch of the Medical Policy Department under ACE Group formulates, implements and reviews preventive health (including mental health) and primary care policies and programmes to improve the health of the migrant workers (MWs) and migrant domestic workers (MDWs). You will work closely with departments within ACE group and various stakeholders to build a supportive health ecosystem for migrant workers.

What you will be working on:
  • Leading a team of two to three officers in the strategic planning, review, development and implementation of preventive health (including mental health) and primary care policies and programmes for MWs and MDWs. The areas will include common health risk factors and conditions affecting MWs and MDWs, especially MWs who reside in the dormitories. This includes the development and/or curation of health education and training curriculum and materials
  • Partner stakeholders such as Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and other agencies in health education, health programmes implementation and training efforts, as well as to ensure systems integration to ensure appropriate continuity of care.
  • Prepare proposals to secure resources for implementation of approved policies and plans
  • Conduct reviews and evaluation of implemented policies and programmes
  • Propose (including funding) relevant research areas and technological tools in strengthening the preventive health and primary care related policies and programmes.
What we are looking for:
  • Officers with supervisory experience leading a team in policy and ops-policy settings would be an advantage
  • Tertiary qualification, background in healthcare will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant experience policy writing, planning will be an advantage
