Job summary

NYP Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore seeks an architect or architectural designer with a strong Built Environment background to teach, mentor and shape curriculum for the Diploma in Architecture. You will integrate design thinking, sustainability and emerging technologies into applied projects and industry collaborations.

You will guide students through design studios, research, and project delivery, while developing curriculum and industry partnerships to enhance employability and future-ready

Qualifications

• Qualified in Architecture or related Built Environment discipline with 5+ years industry experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating architectural design capability.
• End-to-end architectural design experience from research to presentation.
• Understanding of sustainability, materials, building technologies and construction considerations.
• Knowledge of speculative, generative/parametric design using Rhino and Generative AI; VDC or CDE.
• Passion for education, mentoring and nurturing the next generation of designers.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons and develop curriculum, learning resources and assessments in architectural design.
• Guide students in applying design principles, user-centred thinking, sustainability and building technologies.
• Bring industry expertise into learning experiences, connecting design intent with technical resolution and project delivery.
• Mentor and supervise students through design studios, industry projects and collaborations.
• Introduce emerging practices such as speculative design, generative design, Generative AI, VDC and CDE in teaching and projects.
• Lead or support industry collaborations, consultancy projects and applied research in architecture and design technologies.
• Develop and evaluate curriculum, learning activities and assessments aligned with professional practice and trends.
• Build partnerships to support internships, consultancy opportunities and CET initiatives.
