ACROBiosystems is looking for a scientifically credible and commercially driven Sales Account Manager to provide maternity cover within the Northern Europe team. You will take ownership of an established customer base while developing new opportunities across biotech, biopharma and research organisations.
This is a hands-on field sales role for someone who can move confidently between scientific discovery, account strategy and commercial execution. You will work across a portfolio that includes recombinant proteins, antibodies, assay and QC solutions, and services supporting biologics, antibody therapeutics, GMP/CMC and cell and gene therapy workflows.
What success will look like:
- Fast, well-managed transfer of account knowledge and customer relationships at the start of the cover period.
- Clear account plans and broader stakeholder coverage across priority customers.
- A qualified pipeline with credible value, timing, next steps and forecast status.
- Consistent delivery against agreed revenue and growth objectives while protecting customer experience and commercial value.
- Strong cross-functional coordination and reliable CRM visibility for the wider Northern Europe team.
Main Responsibility/ Job Expectations
- Account growth: Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic and developing accounts, with clear priorities, opportunity plans and next actions.
- Stakeholder penetration: Map scientific, operational and procurement stakeholders; build relationships beyond a single contact; and identify the decision process and buying path.
- Scientific discovery: Lead credible customer conversations to understand programmes, workflows, technical requirements, timelines and risks before recommending a solution.
- Pipeline generation: Create new opportunities through targeted prospecting, referrals, site visits, industry events and coordinated campaigns.
- Opportunity progression: Qualify, progress and close opportunities with clear commercial next steps, realistic timing and strong follow-through.
- Commercial execution: Prepare and follow up quotations, support tenders and framework discussions, negotiate within agreed parameters and protect commercial value.
- CRM and forecasting: Maintain accurate customer, opportunity and activity records; provide evidence-based forecasts; and flag risks early.
- Cross-functional leadership: Coordinate technical specialists, marketing, customer service and operations around the account plan while retaining ownership of the commercial outcome.
- Market development: Represent ACROBiosystems at conferences, seminars, webinars and science-park events, and convert engagement into qualified opportunities.
- Channel collaboration: Work with distributors and partners where relevant, maintaining visibility of customer activity and opportunity ownership.
This is a standalone 14-month fixed-term maternity-cover contract. A permanent role may become available afterwards, subject to market conditions, business performance, approved headcount and individual performance; no permanent position is guaranteed.
