We are currently looking for a Joining Engineer to join an advanced Pilot Plant Battery Assembly team focused on the development of future manufacturing technologies for high-voltage battery systems.

About the Assignment

Pilot Plant Battery Assembly plays a key role in bridging product development and future serial production by building and validating prototypes while developing next-generation manufacturing processes. As a Senior Joining Engineer, you will work in a highly technical and innovative environment, developing, validating, and optimizing joining processes used in battery assembly. You will collaborate closely with Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, suppliers, and research institutes to ensure robust, efficient, and scalable production solutions.

Main Responsibilities

As a Joining Engineer, you will:

  • Develop and optimize advanced joining technologies for battery manufacturing.
  • Work with joining processes including:
  • Laser Welding
  • Adhesive Bonding
  • Plan, execute, document, and evaluate technical trials and validation activities.
  • Develop, optimize, and validate process parameters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient, and robust manufacturing processes.
  • Support development projects related to future battery products and production methods.
  • Contribute to industrialization activities and continuous process improvements.
  • Analyze process data and recommend improvements based on validation results.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Automation Engineering
  • Experience within manufacturing, production engineering, or process development.
  • Proven experience with joining technologies and industrial manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret test results, process data, and validation outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience working in cross-functional and international environments.
Meritorious Qualifications
  • Experience from battery manufacturing.
  • Experience from the automotive industry.
  • Hands-on experience with laser welding processes.
  • Experience with adhesive bonding technologies.
  • Knowledge of robot programming and automation systems.
  • Experience with process validation, verification, and industrialization activities.
