Job summary

For our continued growth, we are recruiting a Mechatronics Design Engineer (GDL) - Closure Mechatronics to join our team in Gothenburg, Sweden.

About the Assignment

Closure Mechatronics is responsible for the development and lifecycle management of key vehicle mechatronic systems, including latches, handles, window regulators, power-operated tailgates, charging modules, and tow bars.

We are looking for a Mechatronics Design Engineer (GDL) who can take a leading role in driving technical deliveries within ongoing and upcoming vehicle programs. The assignment combines technical leadership, project execution, supplier management, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful program delivery.

Main Responsibilities

As a Mechatronics Design Engineer (GDL), you will:

• Lead and secure delivery of Closure Mechatronics systems according to program milestones, quality targets, timing, and cost objectives.
• Act as the primary technical coordinator between engineering teams, suppliers, and program stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective decision-making.
• Follow up development, verification, prototype builds, and vehicle test activities, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
• Monitor project risks, dependencies, and deviations, proactively escalating when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with company's Product Development System and established engineering processes.
• Maintain accurate project and product information in relevant systems.

Required Qualifications

• Good understanding of project management, milestone planning, risk management, and engineering change processes.
• Experience working with mechatronic systems involving mechanics, electronics, and software.
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Knowledge of automotive development processes and tools is considered an advantage.
