Job summary

Sinch seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the Core API Connectivity team in Malmö, Sweden. You will guide a four-engineer group, providing technical mentorship on architecture, standards, and system design, while also shaping the roadmap for the API Gateway that powers Sinch products.

You will drive the development and rollout of a centralized Event Delivery Platform over the next 6 to 12 months and ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability across SMS, Voice, Conversation API, and

Qualifications

• Experience in leadership roles such as Tech Lead or Principal Engineer, with people management capability.
• Strong expertise in Java/Kotlin, Spring, and cloud-native technologies (AWS, Kubernetes).
• Deep understanding of architecture, API gateways, and event-driven distributed systems.
• Experience building and operating large-scale backend platform services with reliability focus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-team alignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated people leadership to a four-person software engineer team in Malmö.
• Define and guide technical strategy and roadmap for the API Gateway powering Sinch products.
• Lead design, development, and rollout of a centralized Event Delivery Platform in 6–12 months.
• Drive outcomes through team health, platform adoption across product lines, and decommissioning legacy systems within a year.
• Act as chief technical advocate, partnering with Product, Design and Engineering teams.
