Job summary

MBRF in Jeddah is hiring a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) operator and maintenance technician. You will operate, monitor and maintain WWTP equipment to meet environmental standards, perform routine checks, analyze laboratory samples and document results in SAP.

The ideal candidate holds a 2-year technical/vocational qualification in mechanical/electrical/electronic engineering or environmental/chemical studies, with at least 3 years' hands-on WWTP experience, proficiency in reading drawings

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year technical/vocational qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Environmental/Chemical studies or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants and related equipment, preferably within the Food/FMCG industry.
• Hands-on knowledge of WWTP processes and equipment, including pumps, blowers, chemical dosing, sludge handling, filtration and water quality monitoring.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical systems and read engineering drawings, P&IDs and relevant technical diagrams.
• Knowledge of water/wastewater analysis, chemical handling, HSE and applicable environmental standards; familiarity with SAP, MS Office, RCA, PDCA and 5S.
• Familiarity with PLC, BMS, DCS, SCADA or HMI control systems is an advantage.
• Business-level English proficiency
• Based in Jeddah or willing to relocate to Jeddah, with flexibility to commute to the factory location.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to ensure treated water quality meets company and environmental standards
• Perform routine operation and maintenance of WWTP equipment, including air blowers, pumps, screens, sludge separation and transfer systems, dosing systems, clarifiers and related treatment equipment
• Monitor treatment parameters, perform laboratory analysis, maintain operational records and adjust chemical dosing when required
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and control-related issues and support corrective, preventive and scheduled maintenance activities
• Inspect equipment regularly, identify abnormalities and take corrective actions to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime
• Record maintenance and operational activities accurately in SAP and support continuous improvement activities
• Ensure proper handling of chemicals, tools and PPE and maintain good housekeeping across WWTP areas
• Ensure all activities comply with HSE, environmental, HACCP, GMP, 5S, food safety and company standards
