KEO International Consultants in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design, analysis and supervision for hotels and high-rise developments. You will coordinate with architecture, MEP and QA/QC teams, ensuring code compliance and value engineering.

Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Senior Structural Engineer to join our award-winning team in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Proven experience in hotel and high-rise building projects is essential.

This critical role will see an experienced Senior Structural Engineer join the delivery team for a major development in Madinah. The role will focus on the design, analysis, detailing, and construction supervision of structural works for hotels and high-rise buildings, including reinforced concrete and steel structures, foundations, retaining walls, and other related elements.

The successful candidate will help ensure structural integrity, compliance with applicable international and Saudi codes, cost-effectiveness, and seamless coordination with architectural and MEP requirements in a fast-paced project environment.

We envisage success in this role to include:

• Leading the Shop Drawing review, coordinating the RFI process with the Design Engineer and ensuring timely approvals are in place.
• Coordination with all other supervising teams and tracking procurement with the Planning and QAQC department to ensure all Milestones are achieved.
• Oversee structural engineering activities for high-rise buildings and luxury hospitality developments, ensuring alignment with architectural intent and project requirements.
• Review structural systems, including reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, steel structures, foundations, and associated building elements.
• Performing structural design review checks using ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or equivalent, covering static, dynamic, seismic, wind (including vortex shedding), and fatigue loading. Engaging with the Designer to attend workshops for any elements still under design or final approval.
• Assist the Contractor in validating the design, connection designs, fabrication drawings, erection methodologies, and temporary works requirements for all major structural elements and systems.
• Ensuring compliance with AISC, Eurocode 3, SBC 304 (Saudi Building Code – Structural), and project-specific performance specifications.
• Coordinating with specialist fabricators, erectors, and third-party reviewers for value engineering and clash-free integration.
• Designing and reviewing all Reinforced Concrete (RCC) elements including foundations, basement structures, bridges, abutments, secant pile and retaining walls, capping beams and all associated elements.
• Optimizing RCC designs for durability, constructability in line with the project specifications and in conjunction with the QAQC teams.
• Review and approve detailed RCC drawings, bar bending schedules, and construction sequences.
• Reviewing and approving structural shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements from contractors and subcontractors.
• Providing technical support during construction, including site inspections, resolution of RFIs, and non-conformance reports.
• Executing value engineering exercises to optimize steel and concrete quantities while maintaining safety and performance.
• Managing full coordination with architectural, MEP, and facade specialists for the underpass and other finishes.
• Supporting the preparation of as-built drawings, structural integrity reports, and handover documentation.
• Aligning all designs and construction with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), Royal Commission standards, and international best practices.
• Integrating structural requirements into the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and supporting QA/QC inspections.
• Collaborating closely with the HSE team to maintain safe design and construction practices, particularly for high-risk steel erection and roof works.
• Ensuring the Contractor obtains full approval for all required permits and inspections.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in RCC design for heavy-load, high-occupancy structures.
• Previous experience on KSA giga-projects (Qiddiya, NEOM, Red Sea, etc.) is highly advantageous.
• Professional registration (PE, CEng, or equivalent) and membership in recognized institutions (ICE, IStructE, ASCE, or Saudi Council of Engineers).
