Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years related experience with a technical degree or above.
• Prior senior stakeholder engagement on a large scale project with multiple internal & external stakeholders.
• Experience within either in or with a government entity or on a large scale project.
• Ability to effectively develop an argument and persuade an audience.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven experience working to tight deadlines within a changing environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent judgment, assertiveness and diplomatic skills.
• Demonstrated ability in managing conflict in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a network of industry partners, public authorities, government and decision makers to facilitate the rail project.
• Facilitate communication with external stakeholders to stay informed on industry precedents and practices.
• Promote technical transparency with authorities on national public transportation policies.
• Resolve critical interface issues between Metro line infrastructure and utilities by coordinating with SEC, ARAMCO, NWC and telecoms.
• Support the long-term aim of an integrated public transport system.

Job description

The Riyadh Metro is the flagship public transportation project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In order for the project to be a success, the project will require active stakeholder management team to ensure efficient flow of information.

Reporting into the Stakeholder Manager, the Stakeholder Staff will assist in representing the Riyadh Metro project team externally with public authorities, regulators and third parties. The Stakeholder Staff will provide updates to the program’s stakeholders, manage their expectations and requirements and respond to stakeholder requests, questions and issues regarding the project.

The chosen candidate will have experience of helping to deliver successful project roll-outs and will have experience managing numerous stakeholders in complex, matrix environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Working with the Stakeholder Manager to build and maintain a network of industry partners, public authorities, government (local, national & international) and key decision makers who will help facilitate the successful build of the major rail project
• Facilitating communication with external stakeholders and peers to remain knowledgeable about current industry precedents and practices and to look for ways to work cooperatively towards common goals
• Helping to ensure technical transparency between authorities such as The Ministry of Transport on matters which will have a direct affect on the development of national public transportation policies
• Working as a team to effectively resolve the critical physical interface issues between the Metro line infrastructure and existing utilities by facilitating effective working relationships between Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), ARAMCo, the National Water Company and the telecom operators
