Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and advise on general corporate and commercial contracts matters for Downstream Law, covering the Manufacturing & Power and the Global Legal Coordination Legal Practices.

  • Act as trusted counsel on shareholder and governance issues.

  • Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with corporate governance standards.

  • Support Saudi Aramco’s strategic expansion into new energy sectors.

  • Provide corporate secretarial leadership for one or more entities: organize board meetings, advise on board authority and corporate governance matters.

  • Assess shareholder issues and manage the interface between entity, parent organization, and affiliated companies.

  • Support downstream client contracting and purchasing functions: draft, review, and negotiate contracts, operations and maintenance agreements, service agreements, and other commercial arrangements, including complex product supply and offtake agreements.

  • Coordinate affiliate legal reporting: consolidate incoming matter updates and synthesize key issues for senior‑management review.

  • Assess and optimize external counsel resource allocation; establish budgeting guidelines and performance metrics to achieve cost‑effective service delivery.

  • Review and resolve internal policy compliance claims and deliver training on a variety of legal matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized and approved program.

  • Juris Doctorate, Master of Laws, or equivalent is highly preferred.

  • Current admission to general practice before the highest court of the state or country of which you are a citizen or resident.

  • Minimum 12 years relevant work experience, at least 6+ years with a strong law firm, large corporation, or other sophisticated business organization.

  • Experience in relevant commercial contracts and general corporate matters, particularly in downstream chemicals and retail sectors.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills; experience providing concise and clear support to clients.

  • Leadership and mentorship experience.

  • Strong coordination skills to coordinate affiliate legal reporting, consolidate matter updates, and independently review and summarize key issues for senior management.
