Job summary

Hill International is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with 10+ years of transportation and highway experience to lead and review multidisciplinary designs in Saudi Arabia. You will ensure compliance with Saudi standards, coordinate across disciplines, and engage stakeholders to meet project goals.

The role requires strong expertise in highway design, traffic, drainage, structural and geotechnical engineering, with proficiency in Civil 3D, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• 10+ years of transportation/highway experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in Highway Design, Traffic Engineering, Drainage & Hydrology, Structural, Geotechnical, and Road Safety Engineering.
• Experience reviewing multidisciplinary designs and coordinating interfaces (utilities, other disciplines).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical reviews of highway, roadway, and interchange designs for compliance with SHC, MOT standards, and international best practices.
• Coordinate and evaluate multidisciplinary engineering submissions across transportation, drainage, structural, and traffic packages.
• Review design reports, drawings, calculations, and studies; provide constructive feedback.
• Engage with design consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure collaboration and alignment with project goals.
• Support constructability reviews and assess designs for construction feasibility and challenges.
• Review drainage systems, hydraulic studies, and stormwater management solutions.
• Evaluate road structures such as bridges, retaining walls, and underpasses for safety and integrity.
• Participate in technical workshops, design reviews, and risk assessments.
• Assist with permitting processes, authority coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
• Monitor consultant performance and maintain design output quality and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory, with a preference for a Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in transportation and highway engineering, with a strong track record in major infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in Highway Design, Traffic Engineering, Drainage & Hydrology, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, and Road Safety Engineering is essential.
• Experience in reviewing multidisciplinary engineering designs, with a solid understanding of utility coordination and interfaces.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as Civil 3D, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, MicroStation, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS is required.
• Familiarity with PMC, client, or design consultancy environments, demonstrating an ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
• A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry advancements and best practices.
• A valid Saudi driving license and the ability to travel within the region as required by project needs.
