Senior Project Manager – High‑Rise in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is a construction hiring opportunity with Parsons Corporation for an experienced project leader who can manage complex high‑rise building projects from concept through final handover. This role requires strong command of project execution, construction management, design coordination, cost control, contract administration, safety leadership, quality compliance, stakeholder management, and multidisciplinary team delivery within landmark vertical construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of high‑rise building projects from early planning and concept development through construction, commissioning, completion, and handover.
- Take ownership of project scope, delivery strategy, milestones, schedules, budgets, cost performance, quality targets, safety requirements, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain detailed project execution plans, project schedules, resource plans, procurement strategies, contract strategies, and delivery milestones.
- Manage multidisciplinary project teams across design, engineering, contracts, quantity surveying, construction, MEP, façade, safety, QA/QC, planning, commercial, and site operations.
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, accountability lines, decision routes, reporting requirements, and escalation procedures across the delivery team.
- Oversee design coordination across architecture, structure, MEP, façade, interiors, vertical transportation, finishes, and specialist systems.
- Lead design review meetings, resolve technical conflicts, improve constructability, and ensure compliance with codes, standards, specifications, and client requirements.
- Direct construction activities for high‑rise structures, including core and shell, foundations, superstructure, façade works, MEP systems, elevators, finishes, and public areas.
- Coordinate critical construction sequences such as raft and foundation works, vertical elements, high‑rise formwork systems, façade installation, MEP risers, logistics, and access planning.
- Manage project budgets by reviewing cost plans, approving forecasts, monitoring cost performance, reviewing variations, and supporting value engineering.
- Support lifecycle cost optimization while maintaining quality, safety, technical performance, and long‑term asset value.
- Lead procurement and contract administration activities, including contractor prequalification, supplier selection, subcontractor coordination, tender review, and contract negotiation.
- Manage EPC, design‑build, lump‑sum, and other contract models where applicable, ensuring contractual obligations are understood and properly administered.
- Oversee change orders, claims, commercial correspondence, dispute resolution, and contractual risk in coordination with commercial and legal teams.
- Implement project risk management by identifying high‑rise construction risks related to logistics, interfaces, safety, schedule, design, procurement, and site constraints.
- Maintain risk registers, mitigation plans, issue logs, recovery plans, and decision records to prevent delays, cost overruns, and quality concerns.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, statutory requirements, HSE regulations, quality management systems, project procedures, and approved construction standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client representatives, owner teams, consultants, authorities, contractors, internal leadership, and executive management.
- Prepare executive‑level progress reports, dashboards, KPIs, delay recovery plans, performance summaries, lessons‑learned reports, and project closeout documentation.
- Mentor project managers, engineers, site leaders, and delivery teams while building a high‑performance project culture focused on accountability, safety, quality, and results.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree is preferred for senior project leadership roles.
- Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in construction management or project management, with significant experience in high‑rise building projects.
- Proven record delivering large, complex, vertical construction projects from planning and design coordination through construction, completion, and handover.
- Strong technical understanding of high‑rise building systems, including foundations, superstructure, façade, MEP, vertical transportation, interiors, finishes, logistics, safety, and commissioning.
- Solid command of project management principles, project controls, scheduling, budgeting, cost management, quality management, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across design, engineering, construction, commercial, safety, planning, contracts, QA/QC, and site delivery functions.
- Strong background in contract and commercial management, including procurement strategies, change orders, claims, disputes, cost forecasting, and contractor administration.
- Proficiency with project planning, reporting, controls tools, dashboards, and performance monitoring systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, client‑facing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with landmark high‑rise towers, iconic developments, mixed‑use schemes, or complex multi‑tower projects is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks for coordination, clash detection, 4D planning, 5D planning, and digital project controls is an advantage.
- Knowledge of international codes and standards such as IBC, NFPA, BS, Eurocode, local high‑rise guidelines, performance‑based design, and façade engineering considerations is preferred.
- Experience with Lean construction, advanced planning techniques, logistics optimization, prefabrication, modular construction, or high‑rise productivity improvement is beneficial.
- Ability to support business development, proposal input, client presentations, authority engagement, and relationship‑building with key stakeholders.
- Experience setting up project governance frameworks, performance routines, continuous improvement practices, and lessons‑learned systems for major projects.
