Job summary

Client of PENTABELL seeks a senior Optical Transport Networks engineer to drive deployment readiness in Medina, Saudi Arabia. You will lead field integration, coordinate with project management, engineering teams, and customers, and troubleshoot complex design issues related to DWDM/OTN systems and coherent transmission.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field, 5+ years of hands-on experience, and strong skills in DCN design, OSNR calculations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Optical Transport Networks focusing on DWDM and OTN architectures.
• Proficiency in optical network planning, simulation and dimensioning tools; mastery of optical link engineering, OSNR calculations, non-linear impairment analysis, CD and PMD evaluations.
• Advanced expertise in coherent optical transmission and modulation formats.
• Strong competence in DCN design and planning including IP addressing schemes and routing protocols.
• Ability to evaluate site readiness variances against theoretical designs.

Responsibilities

• Manage project dependencies and ensure site readiness for deployment.
• Coordinate with stakeholders including project management teams, engineering teams, and customers.
• Provide technical leadership during field integration and testing phases.
• Troubleshoot complex design issues and develop innovative solutions to overcome physical and optical limitations.
• Generate detailed technical documentation and support handover processes.
