Job summary

Samaya Investment Company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to supervise, coordinate, and manage all mechanical works for a museum-scale cultural project in Saudi Arabia. The role covers HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and BMS, ensuring compliance with SBC and international standards.

You will review drawings, guide site teams, coordinate with electrical and architectural disciplines, supervise testing/commissioning, and assist with handover and close-out, while upholding safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4-8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with exposure to fit-out, museum, cultural, or large-scale building projects.
• Solid knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and BMS systems.
• Familiarity with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and international engineering standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Project / Primavera P6.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review design drawings, shop drawings, and technical submittals for all mechanical systems.
• Ensure mechanical systems are designed and installed in line with SBC and international museum standards.
• Provide technical support to resolve site issues and coordinate with consultants and contractors.
• Oversee the execution of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting works.
• Monitor installation activities to ensure compliance with specifications, quality, and safety requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and prepare snag lists to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Coordinate with electrical and architectural teams to resolve MEP interface issues.
• Support the Construction Manager in managing subcontractors and suppliers.
• Attend coordination meetings and report on progress, risks, and issues.
• Supervise testing and commissioning of all mechanical systems.
• Ensure O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and training sessions are delivered as per contract requirements.
• Support project close-out, defect rectification, and handover to client representatives.
