Job summary

Penspen in Saudi Arabia seeks an experienced Instrumentation & Control Engineer to oversee engineering deliverables from the EPC contractor for major Oil & Gas projects in Alkhafji.

You will review datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, validate DCS/ESD/FG integration with field instruments, and support commissioning while ensuring HSE and standards compliance. Twelve years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 12 years of experience in oil & gas/petrochemical projects.
• 6+ years in instrumentation & control engineering; DCS experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee instrumentation and control deliverables from the EPC contractor.
• Review instrument datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and control narratives.
• Validate integration between control systems (DCS, ESD, F&G) and field instruments.
• Evaluate vendor submittals, FAT procedures, and technical deviations.
• Support field verification, loop checks, and commissioning activities; ensure HSE compliance.

Job Description:

Oversee instrumentation and control engineering deliverables developed by the EPC contractor, ensuring compliance with project requirements and international standards (ISA, IEC). Review instrument datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and control logic narratives. Validate integration between control systems (DCS, ESD, F&G) and field instruments. Evaluate vendor submittals, FAT procedures, and technical deviations. Participate in design reviews and ensure operability and maintainability of control systems. Support field verification, loop checks, and commissioning activities. Provide assurance of compliance with project HSE and control system standards.

Required Experience Criteria in years

Twelve (12) years of experience; Six (6) years of them within the field of Instrumentation & Control Engineering for major Oil and Gas/Petrochemical projects. DCS experience required.

Minimum Education Qualification Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering/Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.

The job location will be based on Alkhafji , Saudi Arabia.
