Job summary

Bechtel is hiring a Project Deputy ESH Manager for the Ar Rjum gold project in Saudi Arabia. You will support the ESH Manager, develop and oversee on-site environment, safety and health programs, and provide technical leadership to ensure risk control across the project.

The role requires a bachelor’s in an ESH field, NEBOSH certification, 10+ years in industrial construction, and 4+ years leading a team. You will drive safety culture and coordinate with client representatives at all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in an Environmental, Safety or Health discipline.
• NEBOSH Certification.
• 10+ years of ESH experience in industrial construction or heavy engineering.
• 4+ years supervising a team of ESH professionals (≥5).
• Experience influencing at project senior leadership level.
• Knowledge of construction planning through feasibility to close-out.
• Experience managing ESH subcontractors or consultants.
• Significant ES&H management experience on mining process plant construction.

Responsibilities

• Supports ESH Manager in developing and maintaining an ESH program to control ESH risks.
• Adopts client and regulatory requirements where required by contract or law.
• Supports Site Manager in implementing the ESH program.
• Monitors implementation and reports successes and areas for improvement.
• Reviews ES&H plans, procedures, reports, training records, and submittals.
• Identifies and assesses best practices for implementation.
• Evolves and adapts the ESH program through project stages.
• Develops and maintains a plan of activities aligned with the project schedule.
• Develops and maintains a team providing in-field ESH support.
• Maintains relationships with client representatives.
• Participates in senior leadership ESH meetings to set strategy.
• Acts as lead investigator for any serious incident on project.
• Promotes a positive safety culture across all levels.
