Senior Engineer – Water Design in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is a utilities hiring opportunity with Parsons Corporation for an experienced infrastructure design professional specializing in water and irrigation networks. This role acts as a key technical contact within the design team, supporting primary and secondary pressurized network design, water demand calculations, irrigation system planning, design reviews, specifications, cost estimates, and sustainable utility solutions for major infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and plan primary and secondary pressurized water and irrigation networks for major infrastructure and development projects.
- Act as the main technical point of contact within the design team for issues related to water networks, irrigation systems, and pressurized utility infrastructure.
- Calculate water demands, irrigation requirements, flow rates, pressure requirements, network capacity, and system performance needs.
- Develop efficient and cost‑effective pressurized network designs that meet technical, operational, sustainability, and project delivery requirements.
- Prepare site plans, design reports, technical specifications, design calculations, cost estimates, and supporting engineering documentation.
- Review design deliverables, including design reports, drawings, calculations, design submissions, specifications, and technical packages.
- Provide technical input on irrigation system layouts, pipe networks, valves, pumps, pressure zones, materials, controls, and system optimization.
- Advise clients and project teams on suitable systems, materials, products, and sustainable approaches for irrigation and water network design.
- Support other engineering activities when required, including coordination with civil, landscape, utilities, infrastructure, roads, and construction teams.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams to resolve technical issues, improve constructability, and align water and irrigation networks with wider infrastructure plans.
- Review design submissions for completeness, compliance, efficiency, coordination, and alignment with project requirements.
- Identify design gaps, hydraulic constraints, network conflicts, sustainability concerns, and cost optimization opportunities.
- Support design quality by ensuring calculations, models, drawings, reports, and specifications are accurate, coordinated, and properly documented.
- Participate in technical reviews, client meetings, design coordination sessions, and engineering workshops related to water and irrigation systems.
- Maintain clear technical communication with internal teams, consultants, client representatives, and project stakeholders.
- Support project delivery by providing timely engineering responses, technical clarifications, and design review comments.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or institute.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in infrastructure design, with a strong focus on irrigation network design and water utility systems.
- Proven experience working on infrastructure mega projects, large developments, public realm works, utility networks, or similar civil infrastructure programs.
- Strong technical knowledge of primary and secondary pressurized networks, irrigation systems, hydraulic design, demand calculations, and network optimization.
- Experience preparing and reviewing design reports, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, design calculations, and technical submissions.
- Ability to advise clients on appropriate systems, materials, products, efficiency measures, and sustainability approaches for irrigation networks.
- Strong computer and software skills in WaterGEMS, LandF/x, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and RainCAD.
- Good understanding of design coordination requirements across utilities, roads, civil works, landscape, infrastructure, and project delivery teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Detail‑oriented approach with strong ability to review technical documentation and identify design risks, inconsistencies, or improvement opportunities.
- Able to work effectively with clients, consultants, engineers, designers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
