Job summary

Confidential Company in Riyadh is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead design calculations, LV/MV distribution, and coordination with MEP teams on complex projects.

You will develop SLDs, schematics, BIM models from LOD 300 to 400, perform load and short-circuit studies, ensure IEC/NEC/NFPA compliance, and secure formal approvals from consultants.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 8–10 years of electrical design and project coordination experience.
• Proficient in power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, ELV and earthing/lightning protection.

Responsibilities

• Design LV/MV electrical distribution systems and perform load, voltage drop and short-circuit studies.
• Develop and coordinate BIM models from LOD 300 to 400 and run clash detection in Navisworks.
• Prepare SLDs, schematics, specs and detailed electrical layouts; secure approvals with consultants.
• Coordinate project scope with master plans and extract BOQ and data from BIM models for sites.
• Collaborate with architectural, structural and MEP teams ensuring IEC/NEC/NFPA/local codes compliance.

Job description

Design Calculations

• Design Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) electrical distribution systems
• Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop and short-circuit studies

Systems Design

• Design earthing, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, emergency lighting, and lighting control systems
• Size transformers, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, cables and protective devices

BIM Modeling

• Develop and coordinate detailed BIM models across LOD 300 to LOD 400 using industry standards
• Perform clash detection in Navisworks to resolve design conflicts at early stages

Documentation Approvals

• Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, technical specifications and detailed electrical layouts
• Manage design validation, design verification and drawing reviews with consultants to secure formal approvals

Project Scope Coordination

• Integrate work scope for all project entities into the master project plan
• Review schedule representations, establish conceptual scope studies and extract BOQ and technical data from BIM models for site teams

Multidisciplinary Integration

• Collaborate with architectural, structural and MEP teams to ensure seamless electrical integration while ensuring compliance with IEC, NEC, NFPA, IEEE and local authority standards

Qualifications

• Education: BE / BTech / Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Experience: 8–10 years of experience in electrical design and project coordination
• Technical Knowledge: Strong expertise in power distribution systems, lighting design, fire alarm systems, ELV systems, earthing/lightning protection, and emergency power systems
