Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering is seeking a Design Lead Electrical - AC in Riyadh to steer design, review layouts, and lead a team of engineers and drafters for solar PV projects.

Responsibilities include delivering drawings on schedule, coordinating with multiple disciplines, and ensuring vendor and client requirements are met while maintaining high quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equal field.
• Minimum 10 years of design experience in Solar PV or power distribution.
• Experience leading design teams and delivering ahead of schedule.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering drawings and documents on time per project schedule.
• Review design and sizing calculations; secure client approvals.
• Evaluate vendor deliverables; plan man-hours; provide clarifications to contracts.
• Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Instrumentation and other teams.
• Support site execution with technical clarifications and drawings.
• Assess pre-award vendor evaluations against client specs.
• Inspect vendor equipment after validation and acceptance.
• Clarify client design requirements to field teams.
• Gather inputs from client and PM for project details.
• Coordinate with operations for design approvals and GA drawing inputs.
• Verify deliverables: equipment layouts, routing, earthing, lighting, protection layouts.
• Assist Electrical, DC, Civil, Structural reviews of vendor drawings.
• Estimate man-hours for design and drawing reviews.

As Design Lead Electrical - AC the person shall be capable of reviewing amp executing Engineering Activities like AC SLD Building Layouts Earthing Layouts Cable Sizing Calculations Transformer Sizing LT HT Breakers of Solar PV Power Plants He shall facilitate the modellers in development of BIM 3D Model for PV Solar Power plants In addition she he has to coordinate with other departments including Inter-departmental checks covering Civil Structural Instrumentation MEP and others The Design Lead Electrical AC shall be required to provide support for the engineering activities covering the full cycle of works from pre-bid engineering to support during commissioning and warranty periods and to extend support to site team She He shall lead a team of Design Engineers and Draughts Persons to manage the Engineering activities within budget deliver on time and maintaining a high quality of engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Timely Delivery of Engineering Drawings amp DocumentsEnsure deliveries are aligned to Project Schedule
• Review drawings by Design Engineers amp Draughts Persons Checking of design amp sizing calculations of engineering electrical equipment and obtaining approvals from the client
• Review of Vendor deliverables pertaining to EngineeringCapable of Multitasking and deliver multiple things on timeEstimate and Plan man-hour requirementsReview BOQ and submit to contracts team and providing technical clarifications
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines for ensuring inter-departmental checks
• Provide support amp clarifications to the Site Execution team
• Check pre-award evaluation of vendors w r t technical specifications requirement of the client and forward the validation document to Supply Chain Management
• Inspect equipment from the finalized vendor after submission of validation document of the vendor
• Clarify issues w r t the design amp requirements of the client to the Site Execution Team
• Collect inputs for project details plot details feeder arrangements etc from client amp Project Engineering Manager
• Coordinating with Operations team and informing Design specifications for obtaining approval
• Collect inputs for project details General Arrangement Drawings from Vendors
• Check deliverables such as Equipment layouts Cable Routing Layout Cable Tray Layout Earthing Layout lighting Layout Lightning Protection Layout
• Provide support to Electrical DC Civil Structural for reviewing Vendor drawings
• Submit requirement of man-hours for undertaking amp reviewing of design amp drawings of the project

Software Skills Required

• General awareness of Dialux and MS Office
• Desirable awareness of ETAP Technical Expertise

Qualifications

B.E. / B. Tech., Electrical / Electrical & Electronics EngineeringMinimum 10 years (Must have experience in design aspects of Solar PV Power Plants / Power Distribution Projects)
