Job summary

Datamatics Technologies in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Senior Design System Engineer to lead the development, governance, and scaling of our enterprise Design System. You will bridge design and engineering to ensure consistency, accessibility, and reusability across digital products.

You will design and evolve a reusable component library, collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, product managers, and frontend teams, and drive adoption while upholding WCAG standards and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, software engineering, HCI, or related field.
• 5–10 years of Front-End/UI Design System development experience.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frameworks.
• Hands-on React experience and component-based architecture.
• Knowledge of Design Tokens, Atomic Design, and design libraries.
• Familiarity with Storybook, Figma, and design-to-development workflows.
• Understanding WCAG 2.1 and responsive design principles.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and evolve a scalable Design System and reusable components.
• Collaborate with designers, researchers, PMs, and engineers.
• Translate design tokens and specs into production-ready code.
• Define standards, guidelines, and governance for the Design System.
• Drive adoption across teams and measure impact.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide architectural guidance.
• Ensure accessibility and responsiveness across platforms.
• Monitor performance and usability improvements.
