Job summary

Datamatics Technologies LLC is seeking a Senior Design System Engineer to lead the development, governance, and adoption of an enterprise Design System. The role bridges design and engineering to ensure consistency, accessibility, and reusability across products.

You will collaborate with designers, UX researchers, PMs, and engineers; translate design tokens into production-ready components, enforce standards, and mentor junior engineers while driving scalable frontend architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Software Engineering, HCI, or related field.
• 5–10 years in Front-End Engineering, UI or Design System development.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 and modern frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve a scalable Design System and library.
• Collaborate with Designers, UX researchers, PMs, and Engineering teams.
• Develop accessible, responsive, and reusable UI components.
• Define design system standards, guidelines, and best practices.
• Establish governance to ensure design consistency across products.
• Translate design tokens, patterns, and specs into production-ready code.
• Drive adoption of the Design System across teams and units.
• Ensure WCAG compliance and responsive design principles.
• Monitor system performance, scalability, and usability improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on frontend choices.
