Job summary

Mace is leading one of the largest mixed-use developments in Saudi Arabia, requiring senior professionals to drive design through concept to construction. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate with consultants, and champion safety, quality and value engineering across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
• 12-15+ years of multi-disciplinary design management experience on large developments.
• Proven senior technical lead with experience managing multiple consultants and infrastructure packages.
• Strong experience in design governance, assurance, and complex interface management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the design team by setting objectives, managing performance, and fostering a high-performing culture aligned with organizational values and safety requirements.
• Oversee design progress reporting, analytics, and risk management, identifying issues and implementing mitigation and value engineering strategies.
• Direct technical design reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements, design briefs, systems engineering, BIM, GIS, innovation, and relevant standards.
• Manage the design process from concept through construction documentation, coordinating consultants and ensuring alignment with project objectives and ways of working.
• Ensure all designs are fit for purpose, incorporating Safety in Design principles, quality assurance processes, regulatory compliance, and design sign-off requirements.
• Lead interface coordination among internal and external stakeholders to proactively manage impacts on project schedules, budgets, quality, and delivery outcomes.
• Ensure design development aligns with approved cost plans, business objectives, operational requirements, and change management procedures, including assessment of design changes.
• Oversee the development of design and engineering Work Breakdown Structures and ensure deliverables support procurement, construction staging, project phasing, and successful project execution.

The Project

This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia. This unique project consists of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment, and arts along with all associated infrastructure.

You’ll Be Responsible For

You’ll Need To Have

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related discipline.
• 12-15+ Years' experience in multi-disciplinary design management on large, complex developments.
• Proven experience acting as a senior technical lead and managing multiple consultants and infrastructure packages.
• Strong experience in design governance, assurance, and complex interface management.
