Job summary

Royal Haskoning seeks a Senior Consultant Dry Bulk and Materials Handling to lead consultancy and engineering projects across the Gulf Region. You will translate complex industrial challenges into practical, commercially viable solutions while building long‑term client relationships.

You will manage technical assignments, project delivery and stakeholder expectations, contributing through feasibility studies, master planning, concept design, tendering and implementation across UAE or Saudi

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 7-15 years of experience in dry bulk handling, materials handling, terminal engineering, mining, ports or heavy industry.
• Proven experience on Gulf Region projects.
• Strong knowledge of dry bulk handling systems, storage facilities and related infrastructure.
• Experience with feasibility studies, master planning, concept development, tender design and owner’s engineering assignments.
• Solid understanding of CAPEX, project execution strategies and investment decision-making.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
• Experience with international and multicultural project teams.
• Excellent communication, presentation and leadership capabilities.
• Commercially aware and entrepreneurial, with ability to develop client relationships and new business opportunities.
• Willingness to be based in the United Arab Emirates or Saudi Arabia and to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead consultancy and engineering projects across the Gulf Region, acting as trusted advisor to clients.
• Translate complex industrial challenges into practical, commercially viable solutions and build long-term client relationships.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, managing technical assignments, project delivery and stakeholder expectations.
• Contribute through all project phases from feasibility studies and master planning to concept design, basic design, tendering and implementation.
• Select, specify and integrate bulk handling systems and equipment within industrial and port facilities.
• Lead workshops, site surveys, technical reviews, audits and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Prepare and review technical reports, consultancy deliverables, tender documentation and design specifications.
• Support procurement processes including tender evaluations, contractor selection and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with international specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities and convert market needs into consulting assignments.

Play a leading role in shaping the next generation of dry bulk and industrial projects across the Gulf Region and beyond. As a Senior Consultant Dry Bulk and Materials Handling you will work with international clients on strategically important projects involving bulk terminals, storage facilities, and industrial plants. You will combine technical expertise with client advisory, supporting projects from early feasibility studies through to implementation.

Working alongside multidisciplinary teams and a global network of specialists you will help clients improve supply chains and address increasingly complex operational, sustainability, and investment challenges.

Based in either the United Arab Emirates or Saudi Arabia you will contribute to projects across the Gulf Region and internationally.
