Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead design review, supervise construction, provide technical coordination, and deliver major high-rise and large-scale building developments in Saudi Arabia. The role requires extensive experience, international project exposure, and strong leadership across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
• Professional registration (PE, CEng, MIStructE, MICE) or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Membership with the Saudi Council of Engineers preferred.
• 15–20 years of professional civil/structural experience.
• Minimum 10 years on major high-rise and large-scale building projects.
• Experience with international consultants, PMCs, contractors, and developers.

Responsibilities

• Lead review and coordination of civil and structural designs for high-rise and large-scale developments.
• Ensure compliance with SBC, international standards and client requirements.
• Review and approve structural calculations, reports, drawings and specs.
• Evaluate structural systems including RC, post-tensioned, precast, composite and steel.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, method statements and submittals.
• Conduct constructability reviews and optimize engineering solutions.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with drawings and quality standards.
• Perform site inspections and witness critical testing.
• Coordinate with architectural, M&E, façade, geotechnical and construction teams.
• Provide technical leadership in design coordination meetings and workshops.
• Resolve design conflicts and construction-related issues.
• Support value engineering for cost optimization.
• Monitor contractor performance and suggest corrective actions.
• Ensure health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Participate in progress meetings and address structural risks and mitigations.
• Review variation requests and structural queries/claims.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, handover and defect liability.
• Mentor junior engineers and site supervision teams.
