Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with 10 years of experience to work on EHV & HV overhead line towers, civil foundation design and steel structures. The role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, offering a fast-paced consulting environment and strong career growth.

You will collaborate with the Civil/Structural team to develop specifications, designs, bid documents, and conduct design reviews, audits, and construction supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in EHV OHTL or related projects.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Eligibility for registration with the Professional Order of Engineers.
• Willing to travel for short trips to sites and international offices.
• Fluency in English and French; other languages welcome.

Responsibilities

• Development of technical specifications for procurement.
• Development of conceptual and detail design of HV substations (single line diagrams, layouts, BOM, etc.).
• Design interfaces with protection and control systems, civil works, structures.
• Preparation of bid documents and bid evaluations.
• Design review of detail design performed by OEMs and third parties.
• Ensure interdisciplinary coordination.
• Audits and technical assessments of HV and MV substations.
• Construction supervision; development of installation procedures and method statements.
• Commissioning supervision.
• Witnessing factory testing.
• Feasibility and techno-economic studies (substations, distribution systems, etc.).
• Design studies and calculations (load flow, short-circuit, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, busbar design, etc.)
