Responsibilities

• Inquire with the previous shift roller about mill conditions and issues.
• Check and clean hand tools; report damaged/missing tools.
• Check measuring devices for damage and calibration due date.
• Ensure spares available (water hoses, clamps, bolts) and inform Shift In-charge.
• Ensure spare guides are available on shop floor.
• Check roll cooling water flow and nozzle blockage.
• Tighten guides if loose.
• Inform Shift In-charge of any unsafe conditions.
• Promotion to senior intermediate roller after 18 months with department recommendation.
