Job summary

Otis Elevator Co. is seeking a Quality Assurance/Control professional to design and implement a robust program for field inspections and testing with the client’s inspection team, ensuring compliance with Otis standards at major project worksites.

You will define field operational processes, perform root cause analyses, coordinate internal and external audits, train field staff on quality practices, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing and installation activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Business Administration or equivalent.
• CQE certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in performing engineering operations within the vertical transportation industry.

• Develops, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems for materials at major project worksites.
• Serves as the primary quality assurance resource for problem identification and continuous improvement.
• Reviews and approves quality requirements to ensure contract compliance.

Role Overview

The role holder is responsible for creating and implementing an effective quality control and assurance program that focuses on inspecting products at worksites, defining field operational processes and manages the testing of the units with the client’s inspection team before handover. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.

Core Responsibilities

• Develops, applies and maintains quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for materials being processed into partially finished or finished products at major project worksites.
• Serves as the primary quality assurance resource to department working for problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Reviews and approves quality requirements for manufacturing planning, supplier purchase orders, and engineering specifications to ensure contract compliance.
• Devises testing plans and methods to assure reliability of product installations.
• Inspects parts and supplies delivered at work sites to ensure compliance with product specifications and contractual agreements.
• Develops, applies and maintains quality standards for all field operation activities.
• Designs and implements methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
• Performs root cause analysis and recommends corrective actions and process reengineering to ensure that operational metrics are maintained as per the globally defined standards for Otis products and services.
• Develops and implements quality system, and maintains them through internal audit ensuring compliance with set processes.
• Coordinates with client’s inspection teams and quality assurance teams within Otis globally to identify best practices and deploy them locally.
• Designs and delivers training material on quality standards and activities.
• Participates in internal and external quality audits.
• Updates safety policies and procedures when required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Business Administration or equivalent
• Relevant certification such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in performing engineering operations within the vertical transportation industry
• Saudi nationals preferred
