Job summary

United Group is seeking a laboratory QA professional to carry out sampling and testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished feed to verify conformity with specifications and support material acceptance and product release.

Responsibilities include performing chemical and physical analyses, NIR screening, recording results in the ERP, issuing certificates of analysis, and escalating out-of-spec results to senior QC staff. Maintain safety and good lab practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, Animal Production, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of laboratory quality control experience in feed, food, or grain operations.

Responsibilities

• Apply sampling plans for incoming raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
• Coordinate sampling activities with QC Samplers.
• Verify sample identification, retention, and chain of custody.
• Perform chemical and physical analyses, including moisture, protein, fat, fiber, ash, pellet durability, and particle size.
• Conduct NIR analysis and mycotoxin screening in line with approved methods.
• Record results accurately in the laboratory system/ERP.
• Compare results against specifications and recommend acceptance, hold, or rejection of materials and products.
• Issue certificates of analysis and share results with Production, Nutrition, and Procurement.
• Escalate out-of-specification results to the Quality Control Senior Specialist.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, and manage reagents and consumables.
• Support method verification and participate in inter-laboratory proficiency testing.
• Maintain good laboratory practice, safety, and housekeeping standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Sampling & Inspection

• Apply sampling plans for incoming raw materials (including bulk and vessel receipts), in-process materials, and finished products.
• Coordinate sampling activities with QC Samplers.
• Verify sample identification, retention, and chain of custody.

Laboratory Testing

• Perform chemical and physical analyses, including moisture, protein, fat, fiber, ash, pellet durability, and particle size.
• Conduct NIR analysis and mycotoxin screening in line with approved methods.
