Job summary

F. Gheewala Human Resource Consultants is seeking a Lab Technician for a leading FMCG manufacturing company in Jeddah. The role involves conducting physical, chemical, and microbiological tests on materials and products to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will collect samples, run laboratory tests, record results, calibrate instruments, and maintain equipment while preparing detailed reports for QA. 3–5 years of lab experience in FMCG or related fields is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science field as specified.
• 3–5 years of experience in QC/QA lab within FMCG or related industries.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical, chemical and microbiological testing of raw materials, packaging, in-process samples and finished products.
• Collect, prepare and test samples; record and analyze results.
• Calibrate laboratory instruments and maintain equipment.
• Prepare accurate documentation and reports for quality records.
• Monitor product quality through production and identify non-conforming materials.
• Coordinate with Production and Quality teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000 and Food Safety standards.

Lab Technician – FMCG Industry (Job Description)

We are looking for an experienced Lab Technician for a leading FMCG Manufacturing Company. The ideal candidate should possess a Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with 3–5 years of experience in a Quality Control (QC) or Quality Assurance (QA) laboratory within the FMCG, Food Processing, Beverage, Dairy, Pharmaceutical, or Consumer Goods industry.

The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting physical, chemical, and microbiological testing of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with company quality standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include collecting and preparing samples, performing laboratory tests, recording and analyzing test results, calibrating laboratory instruments, maintaining laboratory equipment, and preparing accurate documentation and reports. The candidate will monitor product quality throughout the production process, identify non-conforming materials, and coordinate with the Production and Quality teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.

Applicants should have sound knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, ISO 22000, Food Safety Management Systems, Laboratory Testing Procedures, Quality Control Standards, and Hygiene Practices. Experience in using laboratory instruments such as pH meters, moisture analyzers, weighing balances, spectrophotometers, incubators, viscometers, and other testing equipment will be an added advantage. Candidates should also have knowledge of sample retention, documentation control, calibration procedures, and laboratory safety standards.

The ideal candidate must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate laboratory records. Basic computer knowledge, including MS Office, laboratory reporting systems, and good English communication skills, is essential. Candidates should be able to work in rotational shifts and support production activities while ensuring compliance with quality, food safety, and company policies.

Qualification:

• Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Lab Technician / QC Lab Technician / QA Laboratory Technician in the FMCG or Food Manufacturing Industry.
