Job summary

ABIS is seeking a QC Inspector – Piping to perform inspection and testing of piping fabrication and installation activities to verify compliance with isometrics, welding procedures, and applicable codes and standards.

The role requires 5–8 years of piping QC experience on construction projects, with a diploma or mechanical engineering degree and relevant certifications. Daily field presence on active piping fronts is expected, with potential shift work as needed.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • QC/inspection certification (e.g., CSWIP, CWI) preferred.
  • 5–8 years of experience as a QC Inspector on piping construction/fabrication projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections on piping fabrication and installation works.
  • Witness hydrotests, NDE activities (RT/UT/PT/MT), and other required tests per the ITP.
  • Verify pipe fit-up, alignment, and welding against approved isometrics and WPS.
  • Verify materials, spools, and fittings against material certificates and specifications.
  • Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required.
  • Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/third-party inspectors.
  • Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
  • Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site.
  • Support punch-list generation and verification of closure for piping works.
  • Ensure work fronts comply with approved method statements and piping codes (ASME B31.3).
  • Support preparation of quality documentation for piping handover dossiers.

SECTION I: Job Summary

SECTION II: Job Analysis
Duties & Responsibilities
