Job summary

ABIS is seeking a QC Inspector – Piping to perform in-process and final inspections of piping fabrication and installation to verify compliance with isometrics, welding procedures, and ASME B31.3.

The role is field-based in Saudi Arabia, requiring daily presence on active piping fronts and ability to witness hydrotests and NDE activities per ITP. 5–8 years of piping QC experience and relevant engineering degree are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in piping QC/inspection on construction/fabrication projects.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering; CSWIP/CWI preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3 and weld mapping.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections on piping fabrication and installation works.
  • Witness hydrotests and NDE activities per ITP.
  • Verify pipe fit-up, alignment, and welding against isometrics and WPS.
  • Record inspection results and raise non-conformances as required.
  • Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/third-party inspectors.
  • Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.

Job description

SECTION I: Job Summary

The QC Inspector – Piping performs inspection and testing of piping fabrication and installation activities to verify compliance with isometrics, welding procedures, and applicable codes and standards.

SECTION II: Job Analysis
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process and final inspections on piping fabrication and installation works.
  • Witness hydrotests, NDE activities (RT/UT/PT/MT), and other required tests per the ITP.
  • Verify pipe fit-up, alignment, and welding against approved isometrics and WPS.
  • Verify materials, spools, and fittings against material certificates and specifications.
  • Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required.
  • Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/third-party inspectors.
  • Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
  • Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site.
  • Support punch-list generation and verification of closure for piping works.
  • Ensure work fronts comply with approved method statements and piping codes (ASME B31.3).
  • Support preparation of quality documentation for piping handover dossiers.
