Job summary

Abis Co is seeking a QC Inspector – Mechanical to perform inspection and testing of mechanical equipment installation activities, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and codes. The role emphasizes verifying alignment, grouting, and calibration while coordinating with clients and third-party inspectors.

Ideal candidates will have 5–8 years of QC experience on mechanical projects, a mechanical engineering background, and QC certification.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with QC/inspection certification.
  • 5–8 years of experience as a QC Inspector on mechanical equipment installation projects.
  • Knowledge of ITPs, drawings, vendor data, and calibration.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections on mechanical equipment installations (pumps, vessels, packages, structural skids).
  • Verify installation, alignment, and grouting against drawings and vendor specifications.
  • Witness mechanical running tests and alignment checks per the ITP.
  • Verify materials and equipment against certificates and vendor data.
  • Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required.
  • Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/third-party inspectors.
  • Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
  • Verify calibration status of measuring equipment used on site.
  • Support punch-list generation and closure verification for mechanical works.
  • Ensure work fronts comply with method statements and equipment standards.
  • Assist in preparation of quality documentation for handover dossiers.

Job description

SECTION I: Job Summary

The QC Inspector – Mechanical performs inspection and testing of mechanical equipment installation activities to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.

SECTION II: Job Analysis
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process and final inspections on mechanical equipment installation works (pumps, vessels, packages, structural skids).
  • Verify equipment installation, alignment, and grouting against approved drawings and vendor specifications.
  • Witness mechanical running tests, alignment checks, and equipment box-up activities per the ITP.
  • Verify materials and equipment against material certificates, vendor data, and specifications.
  • Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required.
  • Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/third-party inspectors.
  • Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
  • Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site.
