Job summary

Nesma Infrastructure & Technology in Saudi Arabia seeks a senior Power Transmission Project Leader to drive the delivery of large EPC HVDC projects. You will oversee planning, engineering, procurement, logistics, installation, testing, and commissioning, ensuring compliance with IEC, IEEE, CIGRÉ and client standards.

The role requires 12–18 years in power transmission, with 5–8 years in 380 kV, and strong leadership, budgeting, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall delivery of power transmission project in compliance with contract and standards.
• Develop execution strategies, schedules, and budgets.
• Oversee planning, engineering, procurement, logistics, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Ensure integration of converter stations, substations, control & protection, and lines.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Interface with SEC and consultants; manage subcontractors and OEMs.
• Conduct progress reviews with transparent reporting.
• Review engineering deliverables and ensure quality per IEC/IEEE and client standards.
• Support testing, commissioning, energization procedures.
• Control project budget, cash flow, and resources.
• Review claims and variations; manage invoicing and payments.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams; coach site engineers.
• Foster safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Job description

• Lead and manage the overall delivery of the 380 KV or 380KV OHTL or UGC project in compliance with contractual obligations, specifications, and international standards.
• Develop and implement project execution strategies, schedules, and budgets.
• Oversee the full project cycle, including planning, engineering, procurement, logistics, site installation, testing, and commissioning .
• Ensure the integration of converter stations, substations, control & protection systems, and transmission lines.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Serve as the primary interface with clients SEC and consultants on all project matters.
• Manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and OEMs.
• Conduct progress review meetings, ensuring transparent reporting and effective communication with stakeholders.

Technical & Quality Oversight

• Review and approve engineering deliverables, technical submittals, and method statements related to the Project Scope.
• Monitor project quality, ensuring compliance with IEC, IEEE, and client standards.
• Support and guide testing and commissioning activities for testing, control system integration, and energization procedures.
• Control project budget, cash flow, and resource allocation.
• Review claims, variations, and contractual correspondence.
• Ensure timely project invoicing and payments.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams (engineering, construction, HSE, QA/QC, commissioning).
• Coach and mentor site engineers, package managers, and support staff.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

HSE & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Drive compliance with client-specific and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 12–18 years of experience in power transmission projects, with at least 5–8 years in 380 KV or 380OHTL or UGC
• Proven track record of managing large EPC projects in the energy/power sector.
• Familiarity with international standards (IEC, IEEE, CIGRÉ) and client standards (SE) Excellent project management, contractual, and leadership skills.
