Job summary

Client of Tawzef is seeking an experienced manager for construction activities at a 380kV substation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will oversee all phases of civil, mechanical, and electrical works while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, PMP certification preferred, and at least 10 years of extensive experience in power transmission. Strong knowledge of GIS/AIS substations and fluency in English are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in power transmission and substation projects.
• At least 5 years of experience managing 132kV, 230kV, or 380kV substation projects.
• Strong experience in GIS and AIS substations.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all construction activities at the 380kV substation site.
• Coordinate and oversee civil, mechanical and electrical works throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supervise the installation of GIS AIS equipment, power transformers, switchgear, control systems, protection systems, and cable networks.
• Review and approve work plans, method statements, and construction procedures.
• Resolve technical and operational challenges encountered during project execution.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, QA/QC requirements, and project specifications.
• Coordinate inspection and testing activities and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
• Monitor manpower productivity, equipment utilization, and material consumption.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate site inspections and approvals.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Support testing and commissioning activities and ensure successful project handover.
• Utilize ERP systems and project management tools for reporting and workflow management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• PMP Certification (preferred).
• Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration (preferred).
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in power transmission and substation projects.
• At least 5 years of experience managing 132kV, 230kV, or 380kV substation projects.
• Previous experience with SEC projects and GCC countries (highly preferred).
• Strong experience in GIS and AIS substations.
• Proven experience in testing, commissioning, and energization activities.
• Strong knowledge of high‑voltage substations, transformers, switchgear, protection, control, and cable systems.
• Familiarity with construction methodologies, project planning, and resource management.
• Solid understanding of QA/QC processes and HSE standards.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and business workflow management.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors effectively.
• Fluent English communication skills.
